Tulipa
Tulipa
Matisse said-‘There are always flowers for those who want to see them’.
Tulips are the first flowers to bloom in the cusp of winter and spring. Around April, you start seeing Tulips bloom when temperatures start to warm up but there could be an occasional snow shower. That’s resilience…
Every time i get a bunch of fresh tulips for our home, i marvel at their shape. How are they created so perfectly?
And 2-3 days later they start unraveling..It’s as if the weight of the world bears down on their shoulders. But they still don’t lose their grace and beauty in their droop.
It is the cycle of life.

The purple tulips looked royal
In a vase on the coffee table
I look at the shape of the petals
So perfectly formed
As if holding a treasure
or surprises galore
They hold their head up high
The stems ramrod straight
As if being told by their creator
Never to bow or bend
It is only a few days of glory
The tulips in the vase
Their petals unravel
To reveal every stage
The Stems are drooping
Or maybe even swooping
As if in a dance
The elegance of that swoop
Is not even by chance
And So it is how life unfolds
Every wrinkle and fold
Whether in birth or decay
At every moment in time
Beauty is redefined.
